Alarm.com Camera General Setup for Line Crossing - General Setup Instructions

General Setup Instructions to setup notifications using line crossing with Alarm.com:

1. Go to this link to Login Alarm.com Login
2. Click Video to view live cameras
3. Click on Recording Rules
4. Click ADD NEW RULE
5. Select Video Analytics
6. Select the Camera your looking to setup line crossing on
7. Select Tripwire
8. Click on Next
9. Scroll Up and Input a Rule Name (can be anything you want)
10. Move the Trip Wire to the designated area (do not place a trip wire any further than 30 feet from the camera. Exceeding this distance increases false activity and or lack of activity and is not supported)
11. Select the Direction (notice the arrow on the actual trip wire in the video)
12. Select the minimum delay between clips (3-minitus is recommended. Lowering this will result in increase potentially unwanted clip notification. If you feel you need less then we recommend adding an SVR to your system for 24 hour recording)
13. Select the time the rule will run
14. Set any exceptions is needed (if you don't want to be notified when your home then set the exceptions)
15.  Choose if you want to be notified if its a person only, a car, an animal or other 
16. Select who needs to get the notifications and how you want to receive them (attach a thumbnail is recommended)
17. If you have X-Wave Lights then set the optional lighting automation 
    1. Select the duration of time that you want the lights to automatically turn on for
    2. Select the lights that you want to atomically turn on
    3. Select if you want only a person to trigger the lights, a vehicle, an Animal or even all three.
    4. Select the time from your looking for the lights to automatically turn on (Only after Sunset is Recommended
18. Click SAVE
