General Setup Overview of how to program lighting schedules and Rules in Alarm.com

Setup Lighting Automation Rules Schedules

1. Go to this link to Login Alarm.com Login
2. Click Automation
3. Select Schedules 
4. Click on ADD NEW SCHEDULE
5. Input a name for the schedule
6. Select the Z-Wave device or devices that you want the schedule to control
7. Select the days that you want the schedule to control the Z-Wave Lights
8. Select First Action (Turn On or Turn Off)
   1. Select the Time of day, Sunrise or Sunset
9. Select Then Action
   1. Select Leave On or Turn Off
   2. Select the Time of day, Sunrise or Sunset
10. Click Save

Setup Lighting Automation Rules

1. Go to this link to Login Alarm.com Login
2. Click Automation
3. Select Rules 
4. Click on ADD NEW RULE
5. Select Event-Triggered Rule
6. Input a name for the rule
7. Select automate my (Lights)
8. Select what event you want to trigger the rule
   1. Alarm (this option is used if want your lights to turn on in the event the )
   2. Arm/Disarm (you could use this even to turn on or off lights automatically when the system is Armed or Disarmed
   3. Sensor Activity (works great if you want a light to automatically turn on or off if a door is opened or closed
   4. People Geo-Fence (this is great when you want a light to turn on or off automatically when you get close or even leave your home or business)
9. Select the Action that you want the lights to perform
   1. Choose the Action Turn ON or Turn OFF
   2. Choose  the duration of time that you want the lights to stay on 
10. Select the Z-Wave device or devices that you want the rule to trigger
11. Select the time frame that you want the rule to trigger the Z-Wave lights
12. Select the Time of day, Sunrise or Sunset
13. Click Save
